Nichloas Doucet was a star pitcher on the Bobcats\u2019 1979 Class 3-A State Championship team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now he is the newest member of the Eunice High Sports Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doucet went 10-3 during the championship season, winning all four playoff games, including a 4-3 victory over Pineville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doucet earned first team all-district honors al four years and was the district MVP three times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was also named to the All-St. Landry Parish team four times, earning MVP honors in 1978, 1979 and 1980.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doucet earned first team All-State recognition his junior and senior seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was named EHS outstanding senior male athlete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He had 449 strikeouts in his Bobcat career and set the record for 87 2\/3 innings pitched during the 1979 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doucet also earned honors as an American Legion pitcher in 1978-79.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was later voted as a member of the EHS team of the decade for 1980-89 as he set the career wins with 33 victories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doucet was the first Bobcat to sign a baseball scholarship and pitched two seasons with the McNeese Cowboys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doucet played two seasons with the Cowboys before he focused on his schoolwork. After graduating from McNeese in 1984 in management and marketing, Doucet then earned a law degree at Loyola of New Orleans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
