Darren Craig Victoria

Darren Craig Victoria, graduate of EHS in the class of 1985,  a proud Eunice High School alumnus and a true multi-sport athlete, has lived a life full of achievements and service.

At Eunice High School, Darren excelled in football, track and field, and weightlifting. He was a running back on the football team, lettering for two years and earning all-district honors each of those years. As a track athlete, he was a force to be reckoned with, competing in the 100 meters, 200 meter relay, and long jump. Darren lettered in track for three years, was named all-district all three years, and achieved all-state honors for three years. He broke EHS records in the 100 meter and long jump events and represented his school at the state track meet three years in a row for both the long jump and the 100 meter run.

In weightlifting, Darren lettered for two years, was named all-district for three years, and proudly became the State Champion in the 125 lb weight class. His dedication and skill earned him several awards including the Undergraduate Athlete Award, the Best Male Athlete Award, the Outstanding Trackman Award, and the Best Offensive Player Award.  He was also named Mr. EHS his senior year.

After high school, Darren served as a Eunice police officer for four years before relocating to St. Petersburg, Florida. There, he earned an Associates degree in Law Enforcement from St. Petersburg Criminal Justice Institute. He then moved to California where he began a career as a correctional officer, ultimately retiring in 2010.

Darren embarked on a second career as a truck driver, but his competitive spirit never waned. While living in Florida, he and his friends won the “Hoop It Up” tournament in Tampa, and the following year, Darren triumphed in the Slam Dunk Contest.

Above all, Darren’s proudest accomplishments are his family. He has raised six children, striving to be a good man, a great father, and a loving grandfather. Eunice remains his home, and he proudly declares, “I bleed green and white. I’m a Bobcat Forever.”

Congratulations Mr. Victoria on your selection to the EHS Sports Hall of Fame.
