Marion Fruge, a lifelong coach and educator, made his impact at Eunice High for 29 years.
He arrived at the school in 1989 and retired in 2018. In his time before that, he was the head coach at St. Edmund Catholic School and was honored as a one-time St. Landry Parish Coach of the Year during his tenure there.
Yet, it was upon his moving to Eunice High in 1989 where he truly began to cement his legacy. Fruge played a vital part in coaching both football and track and field during his time there. On top of that, he spent his time in education as an itinerant French teacher. Going from school to school, Fruge impacted many young lives and helped enrich the Cajun-French culture.
