Pamela Truitt Thomas is a woman of remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication.
A proud alumna of Eunice High School, class of 1986, she left an indelible mark in the world of sports during her formative years. As a talented basketball point guard, Pamela lettered for three years and earned All-District honors. Her athletic prowess extended to Track and Field, where she excelled in the Shotput, lettering for three years. Additionally, she demonstrated her versatility as a catcher in softball, again earning the distinction of lettering for three years. Her dedication didn’t stop at athletics; she was also an active member of the Key Club and graced the Homecoming Court as a Maid.
Pamela’s commitment to sports and excellence in academics led her to Bellhaven College, where she continued her basketball journey. Playing as a point guard, she not only lettered for two years but also secured the esteemed accolade of All-Conference honors.
In 1991, Pamela graduated from Bellhaven College with a bachelor’s degree, marking the beginning of her remarkable journey in education and law enforcement. She returned to her roots at Eunice High School, where she taught physical education and generously shared her love for sports. Her impact went beyond the classroom as she coached softball and track and field, nurturing the talents of the next generation.
In December 1999, Pamela transitioned into a new chapter, working as a Juvenile Corrections Case Manager with the Texas Youth Commission.
The call of public service took Pamela further when, in June 2000, she joined the ranks of the Texas Department of Public Safety after completing a rigorous six-month training academy. As a Texas State Trooper, she has faced numerous challenges, from natural disasters to explosions and demonstrations. Her unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of her community has earned her numerous awards and citations, showcasing her dedication to public service.
In 2007, Pamela’s extraordinary achievements and contributions were honored when she was inducted into Bellhaven’s Women’s Hall of Fame, a testament to her exceptional career and impact on others.
Outside of her professional life, Pamela is a loving wife to Peter Thomas and a proud mother of two children, Amereia Thomas and Isiaih Thomas.
