Steve Readeaux

Steve Readeaux, another member of the 1985 Rambo Squad team, took the life lessons that Eunice High’s football program taught him on the long and winding road of his life.

Readeaux has been married to his wife Rhonda Readeaux for 28 years and has three children: Kiolani, who ran track at UL; Monet, who thrived in softball in the Houston area; and Jolie, who played college softball at UL and UAB.

He is also a military veteran and a distinguished college athlete after his time in the military. Readeaux played college football and threw in field events for Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. There, he was the Demons’ leading tackler for two consecutive seasons while posting impressive numbers in the discus, javelin and shot-put.

But he attributes his success to lessons learned while at Eunice High School. Here, he learned how to handle highs and lows. He was a feared linebacker who hit as hard as he played, and after his military time he took that work ethic over to NSU.

As a redshirt, Readeaux made a name for himself with relentless effort on the practice field, eventually moving into a starting position.

That work ethic continues today. Readeaux has continued education throughout his life and is on track to achieve a masters’ degree in IT Management this July.
