Edna Price is a product of integration from Charles Drew and spent her senior year at Eunice High in 1970. On campus, she immediately immersed herself in sports and starred in both basketball and track and field.
In track, she represented EHS at the district, regional and state levels and holds the school record in the 50-yard dash at 6.1 seconds. She also competed in the 440-relay and the 100-yard dash.
She was named outstanding athlete at EHS during her long year on campus and was active in several clubs, including Aspiration Uplift, Upward Bound, FHA, and French Club. She also received the all-around athletic trophy from Eunice’s Sattelite Club.
She continued her education at Southern University, where she was on the track team for two years and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in LIberal Studies.
She now resides in Tampa, where she’s made a successful career in communications with GTE Data Services. She retired from that organization, and now volunteers in the community with the football and track teams at Tampa’s Freedom High School.
